Recently a new poll from Serbia was released. According to the poll over 64 % of Serbians support a restoration of the monarchy. This excellent news for monarchists everywhere. I congratulate our Serbian counterparts on their immense success. The last king of Yugoslavia was overthrown in 1945. Let us hope that a new one can be restored as soon as possible.

Yes, this is indeed excellent news for the Monarchical cause, not just in Serbia but everywhere!!! There is strong support for the monarchy in Romania too, but the trouble is, the old communist elite is still in power, though with a different label of course. I wonder if the same thing pertains in Serbia?
Anyway, the sooner they restore the monarchy there the better and then who knows, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece? Greece could certainly use a restoration, the Hellenic Republic hasn't exactly been a great success!

Yes, It is HRH Prince Alexander, who calls himself Crown Prince Alexander. He and his family live in the Royal Palace in belgrade and do much good work for Serbia and her people. It would make such good sense to restore him to the throne.Let's hope it happens very soon!!!

I have known for quite some time that Serbia would return to the Monarchy; Monarchy is an integral facet of Orthodoxy. My many relatives there have spoken of it for quite sometime, and the president of Serbia is Boris Tadic, who is also a member of the crown council. It's Njkv Prestolonaslednik Aleksandar II Karadjordjevic , by the way.

You have a quote on this site from St.Vladimir the new martyr, which has a deeper meaning and rebuke that the non-orthodox cannot grasp.
A priest who is not a monarchist is not worthy to stand at the altar table. The priest who is a republican is always a man of poor faith. God himself anoints the monarch to be head of the kingdom, while the president is elected by the pride of the

people. The king stays in power by implementing God?s commandments, while the president does so by pleasing those who rule. The king brings his faithful subjects to God, while the president takes them away from God.
The meaning is this: the Rite of Crowning a Monarch is a Sacrament of the Church; it is precisely the same as marriage, only in this case, the groom is marrying all of the people. The Orthodox Monarch cannot abdicate this responsibility in the eyes of the Orthodox Church; he can retire to a monastery, he can die in office, if his health is bad, he can nominate a regent to rule for him, but he can never "divorce" himself from his people.

Crown Prince Alexander will do for me, it is less of a mouthful as we might say.
